A sublime suit of armor known as Yamato Takeru On-yoroiThis armor dates to the middle of the Kamakura period. It has been dyed in progressively darker colors from the top to the hem, changing from pale white to yellow, light purple and then medium purple. This coloration is known as susogo.
According to a legend told in the Meiji period, the armor was a votive offering made by Koreyasushinno, a Kamakura shogun from the Imperial Court, during Genko in 1281.

Bokashi prized by noblemen of the Heian period used in susogo design.
The odoshige string was almost completely replaced during restoration work, but the yellow string is the original. The old shikoro was removed for storage, so the original colors have been retained to this day, as is also the case with the Akaito Odoshi Yoroi.
